Frequently Asked Questions

No, in North Carolina a referral is not required to see a Physical Therapist.

Evaluations and treatments are both scheduled for 1 hour

Our services vary in pricing. Pricing will be discussed during your free 15 Minute Discovery Call.

You can pay with cash, check, HSA, FSA or credit/debit card. For your convenience cards can be kept on file or processed with a card reader at the end of each session

More flexibility in treatment: Insurance plans often limit the number of sessions, types of treatment, or even which therapists you can see. Some highly experienced or specialized physical therapists may not be in your insurance network. You have the right to choose the therapist that meets your specific needs so that you can receive the best possible care.

One on one treatment: Because insurance companies are continually cutting reimbursement rates many clinics are forced to treat multiple patients simultaneously or overlap treatments. These clinics often use assistants and/or techs to complete treatments. At Drive Motion PT you will always get one on one care by a Doctor of Physical Therapy for a full hour!

Transparent pricing: Insurance billing can be complicated, and the final cost after deductibles and copays may be higher than expected. You may pay thousands of dollars before you meet your deductible and your insurance “kicks in.” Patients often receive unexpected bills in the mail later because they don't understand the intricate details of their overly complicated plan. By receiving one on one care for a full hour you can see improvement in less time and with fewer visits. Because most of our patients only need to come in for therapy once per week this saves time away from work, family, and hobbies. At Drive Motion PT there are neven any hidden fees or suprise bills that show up in the mail weeks after your visit.

Avoid delays: Insurance companies frequently require referrals or prior-authorizations before approving physical therapy. Paying out of pocket allows you to start treatment right away without waiting for approval.

No need to share medical information: By not using insurance, your treatments and medical details won’t be shared with insurance companies, allowing you more privacy and control over your medical records.

Continued treatment after insurance stops: If your insurance only covers a limited number of physical therapy sessions but you still need more treatment, paying out of pocket is a way to continue your care.

Can I file with my insurance if I want?: Yes, while we collect our fees upfront, we can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company. By submitting a “superbill” you may be able to recover a percentage of the costs from your insurance company. Reimbursement depends on your out of network coverage which is best determined by contacting your insurance company directly. Drive Motion Physical Therapy does not guarantee reimbursement from your insurance company and is not responsible for funds that are not reimbursed. Keep in mind that if privacy is your primary concern, submitting a claim to your insurance company is not advisable.

Each patient has individual needs based on their specific situation. At the end of your evaluation our physical therapist will create a plan with you that will include the number and freqency of visits. Most patients see us once per week initially with appointments being spaced out in the later stage of your rehab care.

Your initial evaluation will include a very thorough review of your medical history including medications, injuries, and surgeries. That will be followed by a comprehensive physical examination looking at your range of motion, strength, and functional movements. The goal is to help you understand the root cause of any issues you are having and send you home with a program that can be started on day 1 to get you out of pain!

Come to your appointment in the same clothes you would wear to the gym. Loose fitting, workout clothing is the best. There is a restroom for your convenience if you need to change. If there is a specific body part being addressed, please wear clothes that will allow that area to be exposed. If you are a female and we are addressing a shoulder injury it’s always a good idea to wear a sports bra or tank top where you shoulder can be exposed. Care will be taken to keep you covered, insure your privacy, and protect your modesty.
